On July 8, 2026, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Lachhida village in Attabira Block, Bargarh district, in memory of the late Sanjib Pati, the respected Gauntia of Lachhida village and President of the village committee.
The blood donation camp was jointly organized by the Paschim Odisha Yuva Manch (WOYM) and the residents of Lachhida village as part of the Gangashraddha ceremony of the departed soul.
50 Units of Blood Donated
At a time when blood banks were facing a shortage of blood, the people of Lachhida came forward with compassion and a strong sense of social responsibility.
A total of 50 voluntary blood donors donated blood to the Bargarh Blood Bank, including:
- 40 male donors
- 10 female donors
- 50 units of blood collected
This remarkable contribution demonstrated the community's commitment to helping people who may need blood during medical emergencies.
A Tribute Through Humanity
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Sujit Pati, brother of the late Sanjib Pati, with prayers for the departed soul.
Members of Sanjib Pati's family—including his daughter, nieces and nephews, brothers, sisters and other family members—also participated in the blood donation drive. Along with them, the young generation of Lachhida village came forward to donate blood and pay a meaningful tribute to him.
Instead of limiting remembrance to words and rituals, the family and community chose to honor his memory through an act that could help save lives.
The Power of Community
The initiative by WOYM and the people of Lachhida is a powerful example of how communities can come together during difficult times and turn grief into service.
The participation of women, men, family members and village youth shows that blood donation is not merely an individual responsibility—it can become a collective movement when people unite for humanity.
Every unit of blood donated represents hope for someone fighting for life.
Keeping Humanity Alive
WOYM expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all 50 blood donors and everyone who contributed to making the camp successful.
In a world where personal interests often dominate, initiatives like this remind us of the importance of compassion, kindness and humanity.
The best tribute to a person is sometimes not simply remembering them, but continuing the values of humanity through our actions.
The blood donated in memory of late Sanjib Pati will serve a greater purpose by helping those in need.
May the departed soul of Sanjib Pati rest in peace. 🙏🩸
Let us keep humanity alive.
