In a message issued from Lok Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, dated 2 September 2026 (No. 576/2026), the Hon’ble Governor expressed his delight at WOYM organising the annual Nuakhai Bhetghat to celebrate the rich cultural heritage, traditions and spirit of unity associated with Nuakhai.
The Governor highlighted Nuakhai as a cherished festival that reflects the cultural identity and collective spirit of the people of Western Odisha. He also appreciated WOYM’s continued efforts to preserve and promote the region’s rich heritage and to bring people together through meaningful cultural initiatives.
The message further conveyed his best wishes for the successful conduct of the 11th Nuakhai Bhetghat and the publication of a souvenir being brought out to commemorate the celebration. He expressed hope that the event would further strengthen bonds of unity and inspire greater appreciation for the vibrant cultural traditions of Western Odisha.
